fascinating XIV century castle, once the hunting lodge of Niccolò Machiavelli,
dominates the Pesa river valley, and takes one back to a medieval atmosphere,
rich in legends such as that of the subterranean canal that used to
connect the castle to the countryside. The apartments have been restored
in the castle and in the town beside it. These are elegantly furnished
and surrounded by green, with a splendid view of the Chianti hills.
