Nur 15 km von Siena, 20 km von San Gimignano und 4 km von Monteriggioni entfernt erhebt sich majestätisch Castel Petraio mit seinen jahrhundertealten Mauern und Türmen. Das vergangenheitsträchtige Schloß zu Füßen des Monte Maggio, in der Montagnola Senese, ist von den 250-600m hohen Erhebungen des Sienesischen Hügellandes umgeben, von Eichen- und Steineichenwäldern, Olivenhainen und Weinbergen. Ein idealer Ort für lange Spaziergänge. Das Schloß wurde sorgfältig restauriert, den Gästen stehen einige gut eingerichtete Appartements im ältesten Flügel und in einer nahen Häusergruppe zur Verfügung, sowie Seminar- und Ausstellungsräume. Der Schloßpark mit Schwimmbad grenzt an einen Wald und geht so direkt in die umliegende Natur über. In der Nähe: Reiten, Tennis und ein charakteristisches Restaurant.
